ABOUT GFGM

gastronomy
ɡaˈstrɒnəmi/
noun
  1. the practice or art of choosing, cooking, and eating good food.

Good Food, Good Mood was established after I realised how often I was asking myself the difficult question of "Where and what should we eat today?". The Melbourne food scene truly makes us spoilt for choice, so I am hoping my honest reviews can act as a guide for any occasion - from cheap eats to fine dining, to burgers and pizza on cheat days, to fresh and healthy on cutting days. Recommendations on places to try and review are always welcome, just leave a comment.

All photos are taken with my Samsung Note 4 or Sony NEX-F3 unless stated otherwise. Thanks for dropping by!

P.S. Shoutout to my friends and family who dine with me - thanks for not picking up your cutlery when the food comes out so I can take all my food photos... y'all know my camera eats first haha.

ABOUT GFGM

Hello everyone!
Thank you for stumbling onto my online food lair :)

My name is Lisa and I'll just start off by telling you a bit about my amateur 'food history'.
When I first started university, I always brought food from home and rarely ate out unless it was a special occasion. It wasn't because I was stingy, I just didn't appreciate the idea of dining and trying out new eating experiences. I didn't like tomatoes, I had never tried salmon and Asian food was the closest meal to my stomach's heart. However, I started my gastronomy journey in 2011, where I began to list places to dine in Melbourne. The list became never ending. It had come to my attention that there was more to life than ham and cheese sandwiches or rice with braised pork. Whether it was a cheap eat, fine dining, or even food from a truck... my interest in eating finer foods grew.

Throughout my first year of university, I had constant questions about good places to visit, as it was apparent that eating out became my new hobby. The wonderful idea then arose to create this blog - where I spend endless hours taking photos of food and writing up a little summary of my favourite (and not so great) experiences. It makes me so happy to see the eating movement progress over the last couple of months, as people are more wiling to spend their money on restaurants and try new things. Restaurants and Cafes are starting to get really creative and unique, there are too many great places to choose from!

People generally ask me how I can afford to live such an expensive lifestyle but when you are obsessive about eating. you budget yourself to be able to eat lavishly. I will remind you that I am in NO WAY a REAL FOOD photographer or blogger. I am just a young gal with a lot of time on her hands and a lot of food adventures to share with my loyal readers. I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I have enjoyed writing and taking photos.

Please spread the love :)
I also have created a FB Page! Feel free to 'like' it.

Enjoy

Lisa xoxo

  2. Hi Lisa,

I've added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself! Next time you post a review, give it a try. Here's how:

    - Make sure you're signed into Urbanspoon.
    - Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): http://www.urbanspoon.com/br/71/10866/Melbourne/Good-Food-Good-Mood.html
    - Click "Edit blog settings".
    - In the Pending Posts section, click "Edit and publish my pending posts".
    - Then, enter the "snippet" text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    - The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    - The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what's in the post.
    - The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We'll give you one week to do it yourself, then it'll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let us know if you have any questions.
